The madness stops here.
November 1, 2006I have betrayed myself.
Today, I have bought two new books: The Odyssey by Homer and a collection of short stories by Anton Chekhov. Two more additions to my ever-growing and seemingly-neverending reading list. I could not resist! Luckily the Oscar Wilde dramas were a bit damaged otherwise I’d have gotten that too.
Then, I had to sit through this, I don’t know what to call it, let’s just say Thingummy for about 4-5 hours. I regret that. But one shouldn’t spend too much time regretting. Now it is midnight and Garlic’s irritating countdown is ringing in my ears.
I was planning on writing something else. I even sketched out an outline in my head on the way home, but obviously, the madness must stop here. So, I promise most solemnly, that I, Ann Spam, will discontinue blogging until the 4th of December. I will still come online to check my mail and stuff, but no blogging. It distracts me (see, now I randomly sketch outlines wherever I am) and it does take quite a while. Rereading snippets of Everything Is Illuminated will have to help keep my sanity intact. Somebody please remind me to write out what I initally sketched out after the Period of Silly Tests.
Something from Oscar Wilde’s works keeps coming to mind: The world is a stage, but its actors are badly cast. That’s a nice wad of thought to chew on.
Till then, farewell.
I will miss this. Sorely.

I’ll miss you writing. But I am sure you are making this decision for the best. Good luck with your challenges, your tests and you readings

I’m interested in The Odyssey.
Hehe, don’t worry Ann Spam, you’re the Intelligent Essence, remember?
It was great chatting with you on the phone.
Good luck for SPM!

shoelaces!
November 2, 2006 at 2:42 pm
Maelstron:
Oh, thanks, I will need a lot of luck.
SmartKa:
The Odyssey does look really nice. If you want to get a copy get Barnes & Noble. It has a real nice cover and good quality paper, plus it’s a lot cheaper, relatively.
I need it as well!
Jook:
Shoelaces aren’t gonna work anymore. I haven’t played football in ages, remember?

nothing wrong with sketching! You’ll get lost in The Odyssey. Breaks are good as long as you come back
till then, Ann, cheers.
November 3, 2006 at 2:24 am
Pssst. I did peek at a couple of pages while waiting at the bookstore. I agree; I might very well get lost.
Already, I am tempted to break my promise. Hanging on by the fingernails!
Thanks Matt. See you in a month’s time.
Till then, you keep blogging. I am in need of good literature that I won’t feel too guilty reading.
November 3, 2006 at 7:56 am
..and i will miss your posts!
November 3, 2006 at 8:45 am
I miss blogging already
November 3, 2006 at 1:41 pm
I must say that I was surprised to see so many new posts, since I thought you’d be studying.. but I guess that’s the true illustrated meaning of addiction.
All the best. Perhaps we can meet up one day when I’ve finished my exams too! (at least this round of exams)
You think that you’ve got rid of the Silly Tests, but life is but a whole series of Silly Tests that doesn’t stop till the Grim Reaper’s introduction.
November 3, 2006 at 4:09 pm
The True Illustrated Meaning of Addiction. I like that a lot! How appropriate! Yes. It is the true illustrated meaning of addiction, indeed.
Oh man, even the Great Adult has exams! All the best to you too then.
Yeah, maybe we can meet up.
I am waiting for this Silly Test to be over so I can actually choose the subjects I like for future Silly Tests and not have to do stuff I don’t like very much now. Does that make sense?
I also have a million things to do after this ST. Then again, I always make a to-do list before every ST… Hopefully, I’ll actually get around to finishing this one.
Till then.

Ah well. a little story to entertain you.

Very entertaining; thank you
May there be countless rocks for you to climb always!

it’s november 9th!!! i’m So disappointed in u.
the Silly Test should be renamed Insults to Intelligence, and as such, should not impede your more creative pursuits in life.

yeah man, please please blog.
I feel a pang of disappointment everytime I come online and see that Ann Spam hasn’t blogged.
Life just isn’t the same, you know.
Anyway, good luck for SPM (again).
Chinese paper tomorrow. You better get an A so that I can get a free meal, and for god’s sake don’t accuse me of being a Purveyor of Dangling Carrots. Cos I’m not.
November 15, 2006 at 2:29 pm
Ah… Chinese… man… glad it’s over.
NOVEMBER 15.
I’m so proud of myself. Really!!!
And no! You are not going to tempt me! It’s bad enough as it is!!
I can assure you that I did not get an A.
You can write me emails you know. That I will reply.
November 15, 2006 at 11:11 pm
Figures, when I come back to read your blog you’ve stopped blogging. it isn’t so much irony as I guess it is Poetic justice.
I used to be addicted to posting, but then I took a break like you, and now I post once or twice a week, tops, and I think I’m better off for it.
Have fun on your break.
November 16, 2006 at 12:25 pm
Studying?? FUN?!
Well, maybe, for some people.
I AM STILL addicted to blogging; just being slowly weaned off it. Until the 4th of Dec that is.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
November 22, 2006 at 3:36 pm
Ann, I’mm reply your email when you do send one in reply to my reply.
English for Science and Technology on Friday. The deceptive subject.
Meanwhile I will celebrate having survived Sejarah (though when the results come out my mum might kill me).
Woohoo.
